Title XI: Discrimination & Harassment

Tecumseh Local School District

Title IX:

Discrimination and Harassment

Recently, the United States Supreme Court made rulings that dramatically impacted the Title IX statute.  These changes were addressed by the Office of Civil Rights and the U.S. Secretary of Education, Betsy DeVos with guidelines and protocols for public schools and institutions of higher education, which went into effect on August 14, 2020.

Under Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972:

No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving federal financial assistance.

The training documents used by the district are posted on the district website.  If you have any general questions or would like to make a Title IX: Discrimination or Harassment Report on behalf of yourself or another person (student or staff), please contact the district’s Title IX Coordinator.
