Message from Principal Oakes

With October right around the corner I want to stress the importance of our upcoming Parent-Teacher Conferences.. On October 7 we will be hosting PT Conferences from 4:30 - 7:00 followed by October 9 from 3:30 - 6:30. This is a great opportunity to touch base with your students teachers and discuss their performance thus far for the 2025-2026 school year.

We also continue to highlight the last few days of Attendance Awareness Month. WHile September is Attendance Awareness Month as a school we believe every day is important! Attendance is a critical part of every students academic, social, and emotional success. Research shows that students who miss 10% or more of the school year (18 days) see long term negative impacts academically.

October is National Bullying Prevention Month

We will be highlighting statistics and information everyone in our school community can use to prevent bullying.

School News and Updates

Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO)
We are currently working with a group of parents to establish a PTO for Tecumseh High School. PTO's serve as a great way to connect parents to the school wide community, as well as, the school to our parents. We currently have an board and are board approved. We are waiting to file our 503C paperwork before more information comes available, but be on the look out.

Vision and Hearing Screening:
Freshman who did not complete their hearing and visioning screening during Freshman Orientation and all Juniors will be screened this week. School; nurse Ropp and Accurso will be conducting these screenings.

Final Forms:
  • Homecoming is fast approaching. A reminder that students who do not have completed Final Forms (both Parent and Student) will not be permitted to purchase tickets until these have been completed.

Academic and School Counselor Corner

Day Air Credit Union is hosting the annual College Prep Night at Day Air Ballpark on the evening of Wednesday, September 24, from 6 PM to 8 PM.
The event will provide you and your family with the information you need as you prepare for the college search and transition process. Additionally, each pre-registered student who attends the event has the opportunity to win one of the two $1,000 scholarships being awarded. Representatives from colleges, including Ohio State, Miami University, the University of Cincinnati, Ohio University, West Virginia University, the University of Dayton, the University of Louisville, Wright State University, and many more, will be in attendance.

The National Museum of the United States Air Force is hosting a free Girls in Aviation and STEM Day — a hands-on event designed to inspire and empower the next generation of young women in science, technology, engineering, and aviation.
Event Details:
Date: September 28, 2025
Time: 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Location: National Museum of the U.S. Air Force, Dayton, OH
Ages: Open to all students ages 6–17
Students will have the chance to engage in interactive STEM activities, meet role models in the aviation field, and explore real-world careers in science and technology.

After-Hours Career Fair - Currently have 22 companies confirmed to participate, with more being added each week. This event will provide a valuable opportunity for students to explore career options, connect with local employers, and learn more about available positions in our community.
