Welcome and/or welcome back
Posted Date: 8/18/25 (5:19 PM)
Open house for Park Layne is tomorrow from 5 to 630. Everyone will need to enter the main front doors. First graders, please bring your school supplies. Kindergarten may bring school supplies but can also wait and bring them to the scheduled group conference on Thursday or Friday.
Kona ice will be available at open house but we ask that you wait and get your Kona ice as you leave, not as you enter.
Thanks to all families for updating their final forms. We are at 100% completion! If you have older students in the district and have not updated their final forms, please do so as soon as possible.
When completing final forms, you had the opportunity to complete an application for free/reduced lunch. All students can receive free breakfast and lunch again this school year through a federal grant program. However, if you think that you would qualify for free or reduced lunch based on your income and wish to have your school fees waived, you must fill out the application for free or reduced lunch and qualify in order for your school fees to be waived. You must also indicate that you agree to share the information with the school. School fees are $25 and must be paid before students are permitted to participate in any extracurricular activities at the school, including field trips. All questions regarding the application for free, reduced lunch should be directed to the child nutrition department.
We have a very limited number of school supplies available in the lobby on a first come first serve basis. We have a lot of book bags, but not a lot of other school supplies.
First graders last names A-K attend school on Wednesday and first graders with last names L - Z attend school on Thursday. All first graders will then attend school on Friday.
Kindergarten students should attend a group conference with their parent on either Thursday or Friday this week. Please reference the letter that was emailed to you either in June or more recently if you just enrolled. Kindergarten students will then phase in next week with students last names A-K attending on Monday and students with last names L-Z attending on Tuesday.
Finally, any kindergarten student who did not go through Kindergargten Assessment in May should be signed up and attend Kindergargten Assessment on Wednesday this week.
Please reach out to the school office at 937-845-4470 with any questions.
